Devine VFX offers a dedicated Paint & Prep service tailored for feature and commercial pipelines. We deliver clean, compositing-ready plates with a QA-first approach and options for secure, checksum-verified transfers. Our scope includes:
Wire & Rig Removal
Frame-by-frame removal of rigs, wires and supports. Special handling for reflections and specular highlights so the repaired regions match original lighting.
Extended Clean Plates
Create extended, tiled and stitched plates for paint-outs, environment extensions or matte painting with grain and perspective continuity.
Marker & Reflection Cleanup
Remove tracking markers, calibration targets and unwanted reflections — plus specular re-synthesis where necessary.
Dust, Scratch & Sensor Repair
Temporal-aware algorithms and manual retouching remove dust, film scratches and sensor artifacts without introducing flicker or edge pops.
Grain Matching & Color Fidelity
We preserve original film grain or synthesize matching grain when new pixels are generated so composites remain invisible.
Stabilization & Plate Alignment
Rolling plate stabilization, per-shot alignment and multi-camera plate sync to produce compositor-ready sequences.
Our Pipeline & QA
1) Intake & analysis — we inspect the clip(s), create a problem map and provide a short estimate. 2) Test frame — we deliver a sample frame for approval. 3) Shot-by-shot cleanup — artists work with temporal tools and manual paint. 4) QC pass — flicker checks, grain continuity checks and color vetting. 5) Handoff — DPX/TIFF/EXR sequences with per-shot notes, sample frames and manifest.
Deliverables: DPX/TIFF/EXR, stitched clean plates, per-shot cleanup report, approved test frames, secure S3/Aspera/FTP delivery and MD5 checksums.
